Presto Cooker - Canner Store Display with Parts
This is an actual store display for Presto cookers and canners. It was manufactured by National Presto Industries, Inc, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and distributed by the Allison-Erwin Company of Charlotte, North Carolina. This case was originally sold to F.E. Biggerstaff of Bostic N.C., as there is a brochure addressed to Biggerstaff dated January 4, 1955 which includes the parts prices for that year. The case says "Genuine Service Parts" and includes the following: Price list for 1955, 2 recipe books, 2 brochures on "how to use the new indicator weight", 11 over-pressure plugs, 1 cleaning wire, 28 handles (several different types), 4 pressure gauges, 4 air vents, 2 can lid lifters, 1 pressure indicator, 10 safety plugs, several vent pipes, and a slew of other parts that I can't identify (see photos). A few parts are in the original boxes. One of the unidentified parts seems a bit rusty, but overall, everything seems in very good shape. The display case measures 15.75" X 17.5" X 4.5" it is made of wood with a glass display area. The top of the case is hinged to the bottom.
