Herend Market Garden Covered Vegetable
Herend has been producing outstanding porcelain pieces since 1826. Each piece is kiln fired, then carefully hand decorated by one of 750 painters employed by the company. The skilled artisans are guided only by tiny dots of graphite applied through perforated forms. With multi-colored designs, multiple firings (between color applications) are often necessary to achieve the correct colors. A single piece may take weeks to perfect. This is a covered vegetable bowl in the Market Garden pattern. All 3 handles are twigs, with flower buds at the ends. It has the Herend mark indicating the 150th anniversary (see photo) along with the mark 1086 - 60-B FRN. 1086 is the number for this shape, and FRN indicates that it's the Market Garden pattern. It appears to be in MINT condition with no damage or crazing. The gold on the edge is 100% intact, and there are no apparent utensil marks.
