Vintage Delft Clock Works Made in West Germany

A seldom available Delft clock, handpainted in the traditional shades of clear blue with white porcelain ground; a Dutch boy and girl stand atop a "stone" mantle above an inset metal clock. The clock face says "Mercedes, Made in Germany." The reverse of the clock says "West Germany," along with some hand-etched numbers. Please note the clock back has formerly been pried open which has created denting all around the edge; and there is an old, 1-inch long chip out of the inside base lip [see photos]. Other than that, this piece is in very good condition with no other damage. It measures 8" high, 4" side-to-side, and just over 2" wide. The clock works, although we do not know if it works well, or if it keeps correct time. It should be noted that this was purchased from one who collects and repairs clocks, so it is in good shape.
