This is the emerald green Northwood open sugar bowl in the Memphis pattern. This open sugar has gold trim and is non-iridized since it pre-dates the carnival glass craze of the early 1900s. It has the Northwood "N" mark in the center of the bottom on the inside. It is in very good condition considering it is a 100 years old. It does have some loss to the gold but that does not detract from the beauty. There is a straw mark across the inside bottom (see photo). No chips or cracks. The cuts are deep and the pattern is very pronounced. For the last 50 years this has been treated with reverence and is an extra Memphis Sugar Bowl that I have. My interest in carnival glass began when my father started collecting Northwood Glass is the 50's.
