Described in the old black and white catalogs as Pink Rose Border with Gold Edge, shapes were named during that era but not the pattern itself. The shape of the casserole is called "Hudson." It measures 8 1/2 in. diameter and was manufactured between 1912 and 1920. The dish is in very nice vintage condition with good color and little loss of gold on the handles. It is marked on the bottom with only the HLC symbol, Homer Laughlin and the name "Hudson". The lid, however, has not faired as well. I can imagine this dish being treasured by someone and when the lid was broken on one side, it was lovingly glued back together and stored away to keep it from more harm. I have kept this for years as a display piece. Like the previous owner, I can not bare for something so beautiful and old to be destroyed because it is no longer perfect. The lid has been repaired but the repair can be seen. It can be restored but as it is; it makes a beautiful display piece. I want someone to buy it that will care for it so starting bid is low. Count it as a free lid. Shipping weight is 3 lbs.
