Jaeger and Co. Louise Bavaria Hand-painted by Koch Grape Bowl c1900. Gorgeous bowl with handpainted green and purple grapes, with leaves that gradually blend into a deep, rich background of dark olive. The depth and artistry of the painting on this bowl is truly outstanding! Scalloped edge (Louise form) with a gold trim, which has worn off in all areas except the recessed parts of the rim. No matter, this is a very fine example of an artist signed (Koch) piece.
Made by Jaeger & Co between 1898 and 1902 in Marktredwitz Bavaria.
The bowl measures 9" in diameter. It is in excellent condition overall, with no cracks, chips or crazing. I found a light scratch on the surface of the green grapes. See photos for more details.
