Dietz, Illinois Highway Division Red Traffic Lantern. This old piece is not in top shape but it is very rare, and still displays very well, and I think would still work with very little TLC. Embossed on chimney cap with four stars plus, “8-DAY, & N.Y. U.S.A.”. Embossed in two lines around one side of the shoulder “PROPERTY OF ILLINOIS, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS”. Mack Bulldog Lapel or hat pin pair. One appears to be pewter, but is not marked in any way except for the “MACK”, on the collar. Detailing is sharp and clear with no apparent wear and no damage. Number two is a gold-tone, as in brass? Or, actual gold? I have no way of testing and so if it were to end up so, my loss your gain, but is probably brass.
