Pre-Ban Carved Ivory Japanese Fisherman,OLD

Pre-Ban Carved Ivory/Bone Old Japan Fisherman Figurine on Dark Wood Base I bought this from what I believe to be a trustworthy, older lady that claims it is ivory, it came from Japan, and that she has had it many years. It is at least bone if not ivory An old, beautiful and very detailed figure of what appears to be a Japanese fisherman that has lost his pole. He has what looks like a creel at his feet and is standing on a promontory that is mounted to a base of very dark wood, possibly ebony. He stands about 3 ¼” tall to the top of his hat. I can find no damage or wear on him or the base. Please check out my other ivory items & a celluloid rickshaw that I am listing at this time.
