Damascene Sword Letter Opener. Spain, Nice 6 ˝” L.

This offering is for a nice Damascene sword-style letter opener marked on the blade just in front of, and also on the underneath side of, a very ornate triangular hand guard, “Made In Spain”. The hand guard has 3 raised crests stamped into it. The top one is a two-headed spread eagle, the lower left one is a rearing lion/gryphon with a crown above his head, and the lower right is what appears to be 3 towers of a castle. No damage or wear noted, but may have some mild tarnish/corrosion under the hand guard and knuckle guard. Measures right at 6 1/2” long.
