This print was professionally framed without glass. The only mention of the artist, that I have been able to find, was a work in 1942, however, that does not help give a date for this particular piece. The print has darkened over time, and is darker than the photographs show. Because it was not protected by glass, there are several spots of damage which are readily noticed. This litho by J.C. Wood is dated 1985 and published by Arthur A. Kaplan. The displayed print measures approximately 6 3/4" x 5 3/4" There is no damage to the print although there is glare in the photos. I bought this litho several years ago with the intention of replacing the frame with a more feminine one. Vintage Alan Grant Legend of the Dogwood Tree. Framed size is 9 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches. Gold plastic molded frame. It was manufactured in the United States by Soroka Sales, Inc. There are no breaks, cracks or chips off the frame, however, there is a bit of loss of paint around the edges of the frame in some areas. There are a few faint stains on print, although due to the shading of the actual print, one must look carefully to find areas. I need your zip code to calculate the postage.

If you are familiar with the works of Lawrence Crowell, you will know what a departure of subject matter this print is for him. The framed measurements are approximately 31 1/4" x 25 1/4" The actual print measures approximately 23" x 17 1/4" It is double artist signed, once in cursive and hand printed in orange along with the year which is 1972. I believe the original was painted in 1885. The listed print was published in 1925 by Borin Mfg. Co., Chicago. The frame measures 17 3/4 x 13 3/4 inches and the exposed print measures 15 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches, however, the print is most likely closer to the frame size. The print and frame are showing much brighter than they are in reality, but I like natural light for full disclosure.
