I am not sure of the actual color this would be called, but it is the same shade as my citrine topaz ring. It is a 2 piece box, with the lid that just caps down on the bottom. There is no maker's mark. The outside measurements are 10 3/4" in length, 5 1/2" in width and 2 1/2" in height. There are no chips, cracks or breaks. This is soft style rattan manufactured in Italy by Rosenthal Netter. I suppose you would call the color natural, but it has a yellow tone to it. I am having to estimate at an age, but the manufacturer does not appear to be in business any longer. There is a small area of fraying on one corner. The stickers are gone from the back of this soap dish which originally belonged to a bathroom set. This is the sole survivor and I believe they were Lefton. I do remember they were were from Japan.
