I am not sure of the age of this wooden box. The label still has the MEM Company, Inc. logo, which means it is before 1996, because the company was sold. The label is marked as English Leather All Purpose Lotion, 4 ounces, Made in U. S. A. There is no zip code. It measures 5 1/4 x 2 5/8 x 2 5/8 inches. SM made in Italy label as well as red label identifying as M.I. Hummel picture. It is approximately 5 3/4 x 4 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches. The finish shows minor wear and the lid shows some roughness by the hinges. The spot on the umbrella is not damage, because it is under the lacquer finish, which I suppose would make it a manufacturing flaw. Cedar box with brass fittings and loop for locking with tiny padlock (not included). Exterior measurements are 7 1/2 x 5 inches and the interior measurements are 5 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches. The height is 2 inches. The interior is in a clean condition. The brass fittings are not damaged. There are a couple of small scratches on the back. The decoupaging is really showing it's age with a lot of crazing which has slight darkening in in the crazing (please see the photo) and wear around the edges ...click for details

This Japan manufacture was probably intended to be a gentleman's box, but I would think it could be used by anyone. It measures 9" in length, 5" in height and 4 3/4" in width. It is constructed of wood, with faux leather band, brass studs and hardware. The brass is not rusted and all studs are present. The faux leather is held in place with brass studs.
