I have always thought these shakers were unusual due to the pastel colors because most mushroom pieces are in browns and golds. These were made from an Arnels mold. They are approximately 4 1/4" in height. The original cork stoppers are in place and appear to have never been used. They all have a blue "Made in Japan" sticker on the bottom. The lids have a rooster figure on the top. I have tried to make sure the motif of each canister is shown in the photographs. The measurements with and without lids are as follows: 1. 12 1/2" - 7 1/2" 2. 11 1/2" - 6 1/2" 3. 10 1/2" - 5 1/2" The large canister body has a tiny paint chip on the rim and what looks like a fine crack in the glaze, although it may be a manufacture flaw. I wish I could tell you more about this piece as far as origins. There are no manufacturer's mark. It is not hand painted, but it looks as if the red bird and holly leaves are decals. It is 13" long and 11 1/2" across at the lower branches. There are a few fired in dark spots but no chips, cracks or breaks. I can't see any damage to the finish. Manufactured by M. C. Art Company (MCARTCO). It is ceramic with the raised designs hand painted, or least it certainly appears to be. I could describe the designs but it is just easier for you to look at photos and I hope the details show up. There are no chips, cracks or breaks. If you look closely, there are a few tiny areas of paint loss, but they are hardly detectable. It is approximately 8" across and has a manufactured hole at the top for hanging.
