7 1/2 inches across the top and almost 2 inches in height. It is marked Italy and C.T.1 on the bottom. Very intricate pattern with much attention to detail. There is a lovely patina to the piece, except for the underside which is still bright and shiny and not nearly so attractive as the upperside. I have no idea of why it has aged this way. Don't know if this plate or solid, but was made in India. It is 6 5/8" in height and 4" across the base. I've used it off and on for years, but have managed to remove most residual wax.
