I am not sure of the original purpose of this moose, but over the years, we've used it as a pencil holder or just a general catch-all. It is a very heavy material which I would assume is ceramic. It measures approximately 5" in height and 6" in width. It is very thick and reminds me of Treasure Craft pottery. It is not marked and not Treasure Craft. There are no chips, cracks, breaks or rough rims, but several areas of loss of the brown finish. The white spot above the eye is ...click for details

Two ounce Vollrath Stainless marked as 18-8 Japan 46713. I am calling it a sauce dish, but I'm not sure of the official use. Years ago, I can remember being served cocktail and tartar sauce in something similar at seafood restaurants. I used them when my children were small for catsup (my son loved catsup and would actually turn the bottle up and drink it straight from the bottle when my back was turned - this was a portion control mechanism). There are no dents or discoloration - a few s ...click for details

I hate to tell people how ignorant I am, because after toting this heavy piece all over the country and calling it "a bowl," my children finally told me that it was a planter. Nevertheless, I really love it and continue to use it as a nut bowl. The staves are about 1/2 inches thick. It is approximately 11 inches in width and 5 3/4 inches in height. It weighs close to 5 pounds and is most substantial. The staves are separate with no adhesive. It is not water tight. There are 4 h ...click for details

Morton Salt Company Meat Curing Thermometer. It is approximately 10 inches in length. Due to the angle of the photo, the portion with the hanging piece does not show. The actual thermometer does not have a mercury leak and would assume it is still functional. The glass portion is undamaged. The exterior is a bit rough. Additional condition photos by email of any area of concern. I need your zip code to calculate the postage.

I hate to admit this, but after being sure this is plaster, I start second guessing myself. I've had it for years and thought it was wooden, but started looking and tapping on it and decided it was plaster. I don't think it is plastic and would not want to mislead anyone. I believe, it originally had a piece of glass with a temporary plastic covering that was never removed. The glass is gone. The back has a little door to place a picture or small painting. The little door does not h ...click for details
