I always thought this was a soap dish made as a promotional item from Palmer creams and lotions, but when I started trying to find information on the piece, I realized that Palmer Mfg. Co. is involved in producing foundry equipment. I really don't know what this is supposed to be or it's age. The box calls this a "commuter" mug. It is in an unused condition with the made in Taiwan sticker still on the handle. Red alabaster grapes which measure 15 inches including the stem. The stem and supporting structure is wooden (actually looks like an old grapevine). I bought these about 20 years ago from a lady, whose mother had bought them in Italy when she visited her husband stationed there shortly after WWII.
