I've always loved this unique frame and originally bought the set for the frame. The interior and exterior of the glass was so dirty, that could not tell what was under it. I took it apart to clean the glass and found this lovely print, which actually looks as if it has been hand inked. It is rather unusual in the fact that there is no artist signature or dates. I have not been able to locate a maker's mark, however, believe this to be Westmoreland. I have photographed indoors and outdoors in an attempt to get a true shade, but have never been able to capture an exact match. The photos make it appear to be an iridescent carnival, but it is not. Although, it matches the marked Westmoreland Paneled Grape compotes, there is no manufacturing information on either piece. It measures 6 3/4 inches in height. The width 3 7/8 inches in width. This is a 100th anniversary vase for West Virginia marked 1863-1963. It is approximately 5 1/2 inches in height. I have no idea of the manufacturer, but the vase structure looks like McCoy and the finish like Hall China. The gold lettering has no damage, but is difficult to show in a photograph. The bowl measures approximately 7 1/4" across. It was manufactured in Japan before the days of microwaves. The bottom says it is detergent proof and oven proof. There are no cracks or breaks, however, there is one tiny flake on the rim, fine crazing and a few small dark spots under the crazing on the exterior.
