John Chase Glass

Old fashioned size glass advertising Jefferson Savings and Loan. I was given this glass when I opened an account with the bank in the early seventies. It features a brief history of Thomas Jefferson as well as advertisement for Jefferson Savings. It is dated 1969 and signed by John Chase. See enlargement #4 for John Chase's signature. I believe this is not the cartoonist "Chase" but rather John Churchill Chase from New Orleans. The signature appears to match the signature on the early John Chase's work. I do not know if they are related. There are no chips, cracks or breaks. The glass has been used and when held to a light, you can see loss to the enameling. One short scratch above the enameling.
