Vintage Half Doll Figure
|| for item M-6209
Very fragile porcelain doll marked in old red Japan as well as incised Japan on the back. I may be mistaken, but I believe it is pre-WWII, but if you are a collector, you will certainly know for sure. Due to the 4 holes on the base, it could possibly originally been a pincushion. She appears to be styled as a "flapper." Measures approximately 2 3/4 inches in height. No chips, cracks or breaks. There is slight roughness on the rim, but not sure if this is actual damage or the manufacturing process. There is slight wear to the left side of the head and what appears to be a small amount of stray green paint on the back of the head, but due to the age and fragility of the piece, I am afraid to attempt a cleaning. Complete detailed photos of the condition will soon be available by email. I need your zip code to calculate the postage.
