This is a consignment piece we have right now, The lady who brought this in says her father who liberated Holland at the end of WW 2 brought it back to Canada with him. Nice windmill on the unhinged lid. Approx. 8 inches across.

This is a strange one-of-a-kind box, from circa mid 1850s. Hand-made dovetails, and original tin bottom. Inscribed "Joseph H Ward" on the top - the boxes likely maker and original owner. This box has a clasp to close but has never had hinges on it. Appears there used to be some type of swivel mechanism the lid turned on - very strange. The box also has two drilled holes on one side, original to its making. We have no idea what this box was used for. Originates in State of Ohio, USA.
