Neat little pincushion that is similar to one shown on page 20 of “Sewing Tools and Trinkets” by Helen Thompson! The one in book shows a bird on a whale’s tale while this one is a cute brown owl perched on a turtle’s head. Made of glass and in very good condition. One side of the cushion is sun faded, there is a ¼” smooth chip on end, and the “bump” on turtle’s neck has a line that is almost like a break but it did not come off and is not all loose so I surmise it is a production blemish (per re ...click for details

Some of the spools are full while others have only a small amount of thread. Several are marked: “Atinsil, none better, mercerized cotton”. There are also: Clarks, Coats & Clarks, J & P Coats, Lily, Star, and Mecca. Collectible and useful item!

Neat item – Enesco’s Betsy Ross pin cushion/tape measure from the Kitchen Independence line! Measures 4 ¾” tall and is in very good condition – she has a teeny ding (fleck) on the back of her chair and the tape measure has sprung. It could probably be replaced with a small round tape measure because it just sets inside the figurine – not attached but held in place with a couple small pieces of newspaper (original to item). Pincushion is sawdust filled. Super item, very difficult to find!
