These old leather postcards are so neat! There are 6 in the listing and none are the same although a couple of the cards appear to be souvenirs from Goldendale, Washington. Five of the postcards measure 5 3/8” long, 3 ½” wide, one was mailed from Portland, Oreg to Goldendale, Wash. It has a postmark date of 1906 and written on front bottom is a note – “arrived o.k. at 6:15.” One of the cards has “Mfg. By D.M. Averill and Co., Portland, Ore”...

UNUSED POSTCARD DEPICTING A BABY CRIB WITH A CHILD AND HER BOTTLE WITH THE CAPTION "I'M A SUCKER FOR THIS SORT OF THING". BACK SHOWS REQUIRED POSTAGE WAS ONE CENT AND MANUFACTURER AS: A "COLOUR PICTURE" PUBLICATION, BOSTON 15, MASS, U.S.A." CARD HAS SOME AGE YELLOWING, A VERY LIGHT WATER STAIN AT BOTTOM, AND BACK HAS A CIRCLE FROM A PRICE TAG. NEAT ITEM!

This is a super neat postcard and history documentation! Per the postcard:

“Fairfield Bridge (soon to disappear forever).”

Postcard shows the 1866 covered bridge over White Water River in eastern Indiana as well as the village in the background. The village and bridge were flooded in 1969 as a conservation reservoir.

I have not removed this neat item from the frame – it is exactly as I purchased – based on the size, I am guessing it is a postcard. It has a copyright date of 1930 and is in very good condition with minor chipping at one corner and a missing piece at bottom (see photos). The sentiment is lovely and was apparently treasured by the receiver. A lovely gift for a special friend.

Postcard – “Hundred Oaks, Catholic Priest Home, Winchester, Tennessee.” Postcard has been mailed with postmark date of April 30, 1945. It has a cancelled 3 cents “V win the war” stamp.
