McCOY POTTERY – BUTTERFLY LINE CASTLE GATE VASE
|| for item 3767
This listing has a beautiful McCoy vase form the butterfly line of the early 1940’s! This is the castle gate vase and is a gorgeous pastel lilac color. Vase was early from the mold and has clear, detailed design/pattern. It is in super condition with no “use” evidence. There are some production “pin-pops” on rim edge and a fired-on teeny pottery flake on lower portion of vase – none are detrimental in any way. When running my fingers over the vase, I noticed a slightly rough place on a butterfly. I inspected it with a magnifying glass and it was I term a “bruise” – a 1/8” glaze that was partially raised from vase when removed from mold, did not come loose, and was fired on receiving color and glaze. It is fully attached and is not detrimental in any way. Castle gate vases are very difficult to find – this one has clear, crisp mold detail and is a very collectible color. Absolutely super addition to a collection!
