McCOY POTTERY ICE CREAM CONE VINTAGE COOKIE JAR

McCOY POTTERY ICE CREAM CONE VINTAGE COOKIE JAR for item 1791
sold

This listing has a McCoy ice cream cookie jar and it's so cute -- looks just like a big ice cream cone from the corner burger barn!

The ice cream cone cookie jar was introduced in 1978 and it's marked 159, USA. It measures 9" tall (to rim edge), 11 1/2" tall (from bottom to top of lid handle).

Cookie jar looks new -- has no chips, no dings, no cracks, no crazing! The only evidence of "use" is missing cold paint from the cherry on top and a few "sprinkles". Missing cold paint is very common because the paint was applied after the item was fired (finished).

This is a super nice jar and an excellent addition to any McCoy or cookie jar collection!

~~Tips for care of items with cold paint~~ Cold painted items may be immersed for cleaning but cannot remain in water for more than a few seconds as the cold paint will lift right off! NEVER rub cold paint when wet. Allow to air dry or pat dry -- never rub. If a cold painted area is especially dirty, do not immerse item but use a slightly damp cloth and gently rub the area -- one direction only, not back and forth. Do not allow the paint to become wet, the cloth should be only slightly damp. Do not rub cold paint at all if the paint is loose or bubbled -- it will come off no matter how easily you rub.
