McCOY POTTERY -- YELLOW MOUSE COOKIE JAR

Very colorful McCoy cookie jar – the bright yellow mouse! Made only 1978-79, this is a nice size jar (7 ¼” to rim, 11 ½” from bottom to top of ears) and is marked on bottom: 208, McCoy, Lancaster Colony (mark), USA. Mr. Mouse is in wonderful condition – has a very faint, super tight ¼” hairline on lid’s inner rim – not surprising because the lid fits snugly. This fit of the lids for this particular jar is almost always too tight or too loose which accounts for the number of these jars found without lids! This lid does fit snugly and actually will not align perfectly with his face – not enough to be detrimental but it cannot be forced without breakage. Jar probably was used only for display because it still has almost all the original cold paint! Nice item.
