McCOY POTTERY -- ROOSTER PLANTER

This listing is for a McCoy rooster planter! Made in 1941 and in unusual colors – the rooster is gray with darker gray/purple undertones and a green overcast – difficult to explain but is very pretty. The base – grass, rooster’s feet and legs – is in shades of green with some gray. Marked on bottom: McCoy, USA. Measures 7 ½” tall (at tallest), 6 ¼” long (at longest), and 2 ¼” wide (at widest). He’s in great shape – no chips, no cracks! He has a production non-color/glaze at bottom edge. A point of his comb came off during removal from mold – has color and glaze – apparently this was a common occurrence because roosters shown in several reference books have this same missing point. Neat collectible, not an easy find!
