McCOY POTTERY -- STONEWARE JARDINIERE (MATTE GREEN)

Although less than perfect, this McCoy jardinière is a great addition to an early stoneware collection! Produced in the 1930’s, jardinière is matte green, has in-mold pointed leaves, and measures 6 ½” tall, 7 ½” diameter. It has a couple production glaze pop-offs – very typical of McCoy’s early production items. The imperfections are from use – there’s a 4 1/8” super tight exterior hairline that goes through approximately 2” on inside. There’s another one (1 ¼”) that looks like a craze mark but is also a super tight hairline. This jard is such a difficult find that the hairlines did not deter me from purchasing – the overall condition is very good with good color and mold detail. I would recommend putting a couple dots of super glue on the larger hairline to prevent further damage if accidentally bumped. This is a beautiful jardinière that would be an exceptional display piece with a potted plant placed inside!
