McCOY POTTERY -- "CLYDE" DOG COOKIE J AR

Very difficult to find McCoy cookie jar – “Clyde” the dog! Seldom found outside a collection and that’s where this came from – my own cookie jar collection. Reference books list this jar as rare and I’m not certain this is not an accurate description – I haven’t seen one for sale in a long while. Jar is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing! The paint on his nose has an almost matte “feel” and was that way when I purchased – I inspected closely and it has no damage or repair – it’s just not super smooth. The lid (his hat) has some sloppy red paint on inside dry ring – production (not repaint) and is of no consequence. There are 4 tiny flecks of missing red paint on underside of his hat which is the only “use” evidence on this jar -- that’s it! Marked on bottom with McCoy’s triangular shape logo. Bottom has heavy glaze and if there are any other markings (numbers, etc) they have fill-in. This is a wonderful cookie jar that I have enjoyed having in my collection. I hope you will enjoy it in yours.
