McCOY POTTERY – PICNIC BASKET COOKIE JAR

This is a colorful unmarked McCoy cookie jar with lots of detail! Jar is shaped like a picnic basket “filled with fruits and vegetables. The fruits and vegetables are very colorful – so colorful that at first glance, I thought they had been re-painted. They haven’t – the color is fired-on! Cookie jar was produced only 1961-1963 and it is in very good condition. There is a barely visible ¼” hairline on jar opening –super tight and non-detrimental. There is another on underside of lid – it measures 1” and actually feels more like a glaze break. I would surmise both were caused by the lid being roughly set onto the bottom. There is a teeny ding on one corner of lid (underneath). There is minor crazing and interior bottom has some darkened crazing in one corner, not detrimental. Do not be deterred by my description – I try to thoroughly and accurately describe all items and have often been told that I tend to overdo. This is a very nice cookie jar and an excellent addition to a collection!
