This is a super cross-over collectible – a cookie jar and Halloween! Jar was made in 1977 and still retains the “Hand Painted” paper sticker on the side as well as the “FF, Japan” paper sticker on bottom. Obviously jar has not been used but it has some minor storage/handling evidence (it came to me from an antique shop). The lid has a few flecks of missing red paint – not unusual as most Fitz & Floyd red color appears to be cold painted. The jar bottom has 3 or 4 teeny, teeny dings (often referred to as flea bites or chiggers due to the small size) along the upper edge of her apron (above the “Hand Painted” sticker). There are a couple more along the hem/ruffle of her black skirt – 1/16”, 1/16”, and a slice type that measures ¼” at the longest part. These have all been color touched-up but if you look closely you can see them because the black color is not as shiny as the original color. This cookie jar is shown in “Encyclopedia of Cookie Jars, Book II” by Roerig with a 1994 value of $250-$300! Do not be deterred by my description – this is a very nice addition to a collection and is a difficult to find jar!
