This unusual teapot originates from the Isle of Man. It is executed in a heavy clay body and decorated with majolica glazes. The form is of a sailor sitting on a coil of rope with two legs down and a third in an amazing acrobatic feat forming the teapot spout behind him. He holds a Union Jack which forms the teapot handle. His head is removable and forms the lid. There is a chip inside the rim and damage which has been amateurishly repaired on the top of the hat...

Peach flower design. There is a crack where the handle meets the body of the pitcher which appears to have happened in the firing process. A hairline extends from the crack to the edge of the opening in the pitcher. This too appears to have hapenened in the firing as the edges are smooth with glaze and not raw. Some crazing.

This beautifully flowing design of a Dutch Woman has a yellow glaze. It is marked Red Wing USA 260 on the bottom. Some crazing on the lid and ther is a good sized (about 3/16" deep by 7/16" wide) chip out of the lip inside the teapot. The chip is not visible from the outside so she would still look great on a shelf.
