This unusual teapot originates from the Isle of Man. It is executed in a heavy clay body and decorated with majolica glazes. The form is of a sailor sitting on a coil of rope with two legs down and a third in an amazing acrobatic feat forming the teapot spout behind him. He holds a Union Jack which forms the teapot handle. The delicate Woodvine graces this Universal Cambridge covered jar. It is 3 1/2" high and 4 1/2' wide. No chips cracks or crazing. The underside of the lid has some browning at the ridge and there are a couple tiny spots of brown on the lip of the jar, otherwise very good.
