California Perfume Company Catalog Circa 1920's

This early California Perfume Company color plate catalog consists of 38 pages contained in a black cover secured by rivets. The illustrations are beautifully lithographed pictures of the CPC product line. Products include: Lily of the Valley, Heliotrope, and Violet, Trailing Arbutus, and Natoma Rose perfumes; various gift boxes including a Little Folks Box; toilet waters and sachets; cold cream and massage cream, lotions and balms; talcum and face powders, rouges and lipsticks; baby and bath powders, salts, depilatory, soap sets and men's products; shampoo, hair tonic, tooth powder and manicure sets; baking powder, flavorings, colorings, shoe products, furniture and silver polish, and naphtha crystals and starch dressing for the laundry. This catalog was carried by the company salespeople to show the housewives the products. Anyone who collects Avon or CPC would be proud to own this marvelous catalog. The large format (10" x 14 3/4") lithos would look wonderful framed although many have beautiful illustrations front and back so it would be difficult to choose. The rivets could be removed without damage to the pages and the book could easily be restored to it's original form so no damage would come from enjoying the illustrations framed. I am not sure of the date of the catalog but the back page has a gold medal certificate from the Panama-Pacific Exposition of 1915, so it probably dates between 1915 1nd 1927. The binding is good with one small rip at the spine and some water staining. There are a couple small ink stains on the first page, some water staining to the upper edges of some plates, and a 3/4" square missing from the bottom right corner of the last page, that page also has a couple mouse nibbles at the top, page 31 has some missing print from the vanilla container as though something had stuck there and pulled away the top layer of the paper (that is the only flaw directly to ane of the illustrations all the others are clear and bright).
