Dates back to about 1880’s.this kind of the box was used as a 19 century General store money box..The box is painted with black enamel with a decorative, geometric design on top ( old tarnished gold colored stripe).There is a red handle for lifting the lid and a lock at the front (no key). The outside dimensions of the box measure 10 inches long by 7-3/8 inches wide by 3 1/2"deep.Condition is used.
