Blue Transfer Wedgwood Tile,HISTORIC, WASHINGTON ELM.1899, Hard fired tile marked on the back: WEDGWOOD. ETRURIA. On the front is a beautiful blue and white transfer design described on the back of the tile as Washington Elm,Cambridge,Mass.Under this tree Washington first took comand of the American Army in July 1775. There is floral design on the corners of the tile. Back of the tile is also stamped with : " Copywirght J.Midas 1899 " and " Sole Importers" from Boston. Condition is very good for an old tile. There is crazing,some small nicks along edges and short surface hairline (see images),some very minor surface scratches.
