Silver Plated Castor Stand John O. Mead

Featured for your enjoyment is a wonderful and very old castor stand. This was made by the John O. Mead Company in Philadelphia. It is a very detailed piece with the open form top handle. Just on the bottom of this “balloon” handle there are 4 bulls heads. The center which holds 6 castor bottle turns smoothly. The base has a very detailed pattern with an almost gothic look. It is missing silver plate but after 150 years you would too. Made in about 1849. Stands 14” tall by 9 1/4” wide at the feet.
