This is a very old piece of sheet music titled “Deep River” by H. T. Burleigh. The music was dedicated to Miss Mary Jordan. G. Ricordi & Company of New York published the music that has a copyright of 1916.

This is a very interesting song book titled “Songs Of The South – Words and Music of 17 Favorite Negro Spirituals.” The Commission On Interracial Cooperation, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia published the book. There is no copyright date in the book, however, I am guessing that it is from the 1930’s to 1940’s. The front inside cover has a narrative titled “The Negro Spiritual” by Professor Frederick Hall, Director of Music, Dillard University of New Orleans.

Cadman. The front cover shows for “High Voice.” Edwin H. Morris & Company, Inc. published the book that has an original copyright of 1909. The copyright has been renewed but the date is not given. It is prior to 1963, however.
This is a nice vintage advertisement dated April, 1945, Magnavox Radio Phonograph – The choice of great artists. The illustration shows Stephen Foster on the Cincinnati waterfront. The ad states, "Stephen Foster making his first contact with the melodies that would lead him to write America’s best-loved songs."
