This 1975 issue of the Farmers' Almanac is full of wit and wisdom! The Farmers' Almanac was practically the Bible for farmers in the past - telling them the best times to plant crops, when to harvest and other tidbits.

This issue was a complimentary copy given by CF&I Steel Corporation of Pueblo, Colorado.

This issue has some very funny items in it. There is a chart on employee performance - made in jest - that gave me a couple of good giggles...

This is a very nice cookbook titled "Flame Favorites - Tested Recipes, Cooking Charts, Equipment Facts." The cookbook was prepared by the Home Economics Department of Lone Star Gas Company. There is no copyright in the book, however, based on the graphics in the cookbook and other cookbooks purchased with this one, I believe it to be from the 1950's.

The cookbook starts out with the Definitions of Cookery Processes and has a nice chart of Measures and Equivalents...

This is a nice 1969 instruction booklet for knit fashions. It includes instructions for a sleeveless cable cardigan, tunic vest, long pullover, Beret and more.

The booklet includes 21 pages of instructions. It is in good condition with some minor wear to the outer cover. There is one small tear on the front, upper left corner...

This is a copy of a vintage Ford Times Magazine dated April 1955. It is full of nice pictures and articles that reflect life in simpler times.

The Ranch Wagon Ideas article is pretty interesting...

This is a vintage booklet that was given free with a package of Fritos Chips. The booklet is "Outdoor Cooking Ideas" and has a copyright of 1957. It includes tip on fire building, handy helpers, recipes for sauces, a time guide for beginners and cooking hints.

The booklet is small, measuring 3x6" in size and has 13 pages. The booklet is in good condition - inside and out. There is some surface wear to the outer cover and edge...

This is a nice 1960 issue of Gourmet Magazine. There are short stories and a couple of recipes, Yorkshire Pudding and Old Buckeye Poundcake, that sound perfect for the up-coming holidays.

There are many full page advertisements from different liquor companies including: Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry, Piper-Heidsieck Champagne (see photo), John Jameson Irish Whiskey, Bols Liqueurs, and more.

The magazine is in good condition - inside and out...

This group is a little hodge-podge of recipe booklets I put together - all featuring Chinese and Oriental Cooking. I'll describe them left to right - top to bottom:

(1) Secret of Oriental Cooking - Copyright 1974 by RJR Foods, Inc., better known as Chun King. The booklet is a 5 1/4" square. It has 10 pages - some pictures - others showing Chun King products. One of the recipes in this booklet is Stir-Fried Chicken Medley...

This is a nice booklet titled "Hand Knits by Beehive" with instructions for knittng socks for the whole family. The copyright is 1944 and it still has the original price tag of 25 cents on the front cover.

The booklet has 34 pages.

The outer cover has some damage on the binding edge as shown and the upper right edge has a small tear. It has a small dog-ear also...

This is a nice vintage copy of Holiday Magazine dated March, 1958. There are many interesting articles and advertisements from that year!

My fellow Texans might enjoy the article by Robert Penn Warren titled "How Texas Won Her Freedom." It is the story of Sam Houston and his incredible rout of the Mexican Army in the Battle of San Jacinto.

"New Orleans Society" tells of the social season which is concentrated into carnival time and the feverish activities of choosing its queen...

This 1936 booklet is the third edition of the publication by the Spool Cotton Company. It is full of wonderful examples of crocheted items for the home. Absolutely beautiful table covers, chair protectors, placemats and more.

The booklet does show signs of wear both on the outer cover and the inside pages, however, the booklet is still well bound and is not coming apart. The binding edge has a tear on the lower bottom about 2" long. The booklet has been folded over in half at one time...

This is a very nice art book titled "How to Do Tole Painting" published by Walter T. Foster. The instructions are by Lola Ades...
