It is the story of Ben Miller's family and his daughter Jean who traveled around picking strawberries for a living. It illustrates the hard life of the migrant worker with many touching, vintage pictures.

This issue of Stylist Magazine will give up a glimpse of what up-scale furniture was in style in the early 1960's. This is a complimentary issue from Fakes & Company, Furnishing Texas Homes Since 1876, on Houston Street in Fort Worth, Texas.

The magazine only has 15 pages, however, it has many nice pictures of furniture, lamps, rugs and even a Farmhouse Colonial floor plan on the back inside cover.

The dreaded Texas Drivers Handbook. I studied mine until the pages were tattered and still flunked the driving portion of the test because the officer said I was too cautious! Bet they don't have many opportunities to say that today!

As you can see in the photo, Carl has written his name on the front cover and as he daydreamed through his Driver's Ed class, he also doodled a motorcycle on the front inside cover and a car on the back cover...

This is a booklet the the Texas Highway Department printed because of requests from people in other states and Canada wanting to learn more about Texas.

I have no actual copyright date, but from the automobiles and other things in the photos, I am guessing it was printed in the 1940's or earlier.

This a nice publication by the Texas Highway Department from the travel and information center. It was given out to visitors to the Texas Tourist Bureau. I could locate a copyright in the publication, however, from the pictures, it appears to be between 1950's and late 1960's.

It divides the glorious state of Texas (I"m biased) into sections with wonderful, full color pictures of the area attractions...
