This is a very nice cookbook titled "Flame Favorites - Tested Recipes, Cooking Charts, Equipment Facts." The cookbook was prepared by the Home Economics Department of Lone Star Gas Company. There is no copyright in the book, however, based on the graphics in the cookbook and other cookbooks purchased with this one, I believe it to be from the 1950's.

The cookbook starts out with the Definitions of Cookery Processes and has a nice chart of Measures and Equivalents...

This is a vintage booklet that was given free with a package of Fritos Chips. The booklet is "Outdoor Cooking Ideas" and has a copyright of 1957. It includes tip on fire building, handy helpers, recipes for sauces, a time guide for beginners and cooking hints.

The booklet is small, measuring 3x6" in size and has 13 pages. The booklet is in good condition - inside and out. There is some surface wear to the outer cover and edge...

This is a nice 1960 issue of Gourmet Magazine. There are short stories and a couple of recipes, Yorkshire Pudding and Old Buckeye Poundcake, that sound perfect for the up-coming holidays.

There are many full page advertisements from different liquor companies including: Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry, Piper-Heidsieck Champagne (see photo), John Jameson Irish Whiskey, Bols Liqueurs, and more.

This group is a little hodge-podge of recipe booklets I put together - all featuring Chinese and Oriental Cooking. I'll describe them left to right - top to bottom:

(1) Secret of Oriental Cooking - Copyright 1974 by RJR Foods, Inc., better known as Chun King. The booklet is a 5 1/4" square. It has 10 pages - some pictures - others showing Chun King products. One of the recipes in this booklet is Stir-Fried Chicken Medley...

This listing is for 12 very small stainless steel forks - perfect for serving horsdoeuvres to your guest. These are unused in their original box and were made in Hong Kong.

These little forks have an off-white colored plastic handle with a pretty gold design embossed the length of the handle. The design in only on one side as shown. Each fork is approximately 4" long.

The top lid to the box shows some wear and fading from age...

This is a group of four dessert booklets with some great recipes. Food manufacturers used to give these freebies away either by mail or in magazines to entice housewives to try their products.

1. "Make Some Happy. Make Someone Jell-O." It has a 1972 copyright. It shows several new and interesting ways to serve Jell-O.

This is a very nice cookbook titled "The Chinese Cuisine I Love" by Jules J. Bond. Leon Amiel, Publisher, of New York published the cookbook that has a copyright of 1977.

This is another great vintage book from Better Homes and Gardens. The title of the book is "Birthdays and Family Celebrations." There are dozens of delightful ideas and recipes for family red-letter days . . . birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and more.

The many pictures of simpler times will bring back a sense of nostalgia such as the section for a Teenager’s Soda Fountain Birthday Party...

If you enjoy cooking fancy foods, then this is the cookbook for you. The cookbook is titled "The New James Beard" by famed James A. Beard. Alfred A. Knoph of New York published the book. It is a First Edition with a 1981 copyright! The nice drawings in the book are by Karl Stuecklen.

James Beard (1903-1985) wrote many books on cooking during his career. He was the first to publish a major cookbook exclusively dedicated to cocktail food...

This is a used matchbook cover advertising Quaker Foods by Lee & Cady of Michigan and Ohio.  The other end of the matchbook cover show a family-sized jar of Quaker Coffee.

The matches have been removed. This matchbook is very old; however, I do not have an exact date on it. I am estimating it is from the 1940’s or 1950’s.

The matchbook is good condition with some wear to the corners.

This is a 1953 cookbook from Pillsbury's 4th Grand National Baking Contest. It includes 100 of the prize-winning recipes.

Some of the recipes include Sesame Circle Cookies, Candy Lasses, Lemon Wonder Cake, Peppy Apple-Cheese Bread, Peanut Butter Bread 'N' Rolls, Marmalade Mince Pie, Toasty Coconut Orange Cake, Brazilian Jubilee Cookies, and more.
