This is a group of three vintage Valentine’s Day Cards. They are from the mid 1950’s.

The cards include:

1. A girl and boy making pies. The verse: "I’m ‘PIE-NING’ for you . . . . Be my Valentine."

2. A girl and boy caught in a flood. The verse: "Sitting here waiting and waiting. Oh gee! Why don’t you come and rescue me? My Valentine!"

3. A boy and girl grilling...

This is a vintage Valentine’s Day card for a teacher. The message, "Please take ‘note’ teacher – you’re perfect in my book!"

The card is in good condition. There are two score lines on the card. These were put on old cards so they could be folded to fit inside the envelopes. The top score mark has been folded (just below the tips to the two upper hearts). The second score has not been folded...

This is a very unusual postcard – both in the size and the way it was made. The front side of the postcard shows a hillbilly woman with her foot on the head of a submissive hillbilly man. The quote states, "You’re Always On My Mind."

This card is to Sharon from Bobby letting her know that he is away attending the funeral of his great grandmother. The postcard is addressed to Fort Worth, Texas, and is postmarked from Shelbyville, Tennessee, in August 1960...

This is a very old picture postcard. It shows a young woman – all dressed up on his Sunday best – an ankle length dress. The woman has accessorized with a wide-brim hat, gloves and a long string of beads.

It was a common practice for people to have photographs of themselves made into postcards they could send to friends and loved ones.

The back side of the postcard is divided for a message and an address, as well as, a place for the postage stamp...

This is a very old picture postcard. It shows a young man – I’m guessing in his twenties – all dressed up on his Sunday best, a dark suit. There appears to be a pen in his coat pocket. Not the straight edge of the tie bottom.

This is a very nice souvenir patch from New Paltz, New York. It shows some very nice machine embroidery work and says, "Mohonk Mountain House." Albert and Alfred Smiley built the Mohonk Mountain House in 1869. This 251-room Victorian Castle is the oldest family-owned resort in America.

The patch is "like new" in its package - still attached to its original hang-tag...

This is a very nice souvenir patch from Las Vegas, Nevada. It shows some very nice machine embroidery work and says, "I’ve Been To Vegas." The fact that the man has been reduced to wearing only a barrel says it all!

This is a very nice book by George Dolan titled "Come Quick! Rodger’s Had A Fit!" The writing is taken from the humorist Mr. Dolan’s many years as a front-page columnist for the Fort Worth Star Telegram Newspaper. Harold Maples did the cartoons in the book.

Leonard Sanders, author of The Wooden Horseshoe, wrote the introduction to the book. Branch-Smith, Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas, published the book that has a 1970 copyright.
