This advertising duo comes from a September 1958 National Geographic Magazine.

The first side is an advertisement for Bell Telephone System. The message here is "It"s fun to phone". The ad invites you to take a break by making a phone call after a hectic day of washing dishes, making beds and other household chores. Of course, in 1958, how could we have ever imagined tele-marketers, caller I.D., call forwarding and other technologies that would have seemed like science-fiction back then...

This is a great postcard book of Black Hills, South Dakota - The Mountain Vacation Land. The lower right hand corner has "Mount Rushmore Memorial". The front also says "Chamber of Commerce, Rapid City, S.D." so maybe this was a tourist handout at the time.

Hard to believe the postage was only 1 1/2? to send a group of postcards. Note the very elegant handwriting on the address...

This Children's magazine was celebrating its 18th year with this issue dated January 1952. It is full of activities for children. We were all easier to entertain back then with no cable TV, video games or computers to play with in our spare time.

This would make a nice gift for someone born January, 1952, or for someone that read this magazine as a child.

You'll feel a bit nostalgic when you see the nice black and white illustrations. A short story about Rory and the Red Sled is very ni...

Tragically we lost the great Johnny Cash only a few weeks ago! The Man In Black helped define country music and this issue of Country Music was his day in the sunshine! Except for a few articles and the regular magazine features, this entire issue is all about Johnny Cash!

Instead of one rambling article, the magazine is divided into many articles about Johnny Cash, his family, career and more. Some of the article titles include: Johnny Cash"s Greatest Hits, John R. Cash: I Will Rock "n Ro...
