This is a nice book of crochet patterns and instructions titled "Star Book No. 98 – Suggestions For Fairs and Bazaars." The American Thread Company of New York published the book that has a copyright of 1953.

The instructions and patterns in this book are reminiscent of the things I can remember my grandmother making. The projects include doilies, hot plate mats, napkin holders, pencil and note pad holder, and more.

On of the of the projects I liked is called Bridal Shower. These are long runners that go on both sides of the table where plates, forks, glasses and other items are placed for the refreshments.

It is full of instructions for making some very feminine fashions and accessories. The items in this book are reminiscent of what women were wearing as World War II was coming to an end.
