This is a very nice soft cover book with a copyright of 1973. I am not a fisherman, but this seems to cover just about everything you would need to know for this sport. There are many nice black and white illustrations showing how to do fly tying, techniques & strategies, fly fishing methods and more. Chapter five is titled Striking, Playing and Landing. I am including an article titled "Getting Into Fly-Fishing" from a May, 1980, Outdoor Life magazine that the book"s original owner had folded inside the book. The outer cover of the book has wear on the edges and corners. On the upper right corner you can see in the photo where a sticker has been removed. The upper outside corner on the back cover has a small bend in it. The interior pages are very clean - no writing. I did find one page dog-eared - no doubt some flies the original owner planned to try out. I don"t think the book has been read much or not all the way through as the pages are tight and the spine has not been broken. Despite the condition of the outer cover, this book would make great reading for the experienced fly fisherman or very useful to the person wishing to learn the sport!
