Better Homes And Garden Garden Book - 1951 1st Edition

This pretty notebook from Better Homes & Gardens has everything you would every want to know about gardening. On the inside cover, it states it is a First Edition with a copyright of 1951.

The notebook is divided by tabbed dividers labeled for easy reference. The book covers many areas of gardening including lawns, evergreens, vines, pools, soils, pests & diseases and more.

There are some great color, vintage pictures of gardens and plants.

Throughout the notebook are articles the original owner tore out and placed inside the pages from a publication called The Corral. The articles are titled Meade Crane"s Gardening Corner. These are all vintage, as well, as the phone numbers listed have only six digits and use letters and numbers such as MA-8018.

Overall, the notebook is in good condition. The divider edges and tabs have darkened some with age. Some of the interior pages show some wear - with some having bends from use. Pages have darkened some, but are not brittle. The owner has written her name on the inside front cover in a small, delicate handwriting.

The back cover, not shown, is covered solid in bright flowers like those around the front cover border.

This would make a wonderful gift for someone who loves gardening and collecting vintage items!
