This cookbook was published by the Caprock Girl Scout Council in Lubbock, Texas, in celebration of their bicentennial. It was printed in Floydada, Texas, by Stewart Printing. Illustrations in the cookbook are by Susan Randal Whittington.
Some of the recipes included: Potato Croquettes, Stuffed "Possum, Cowpoke Beans, Johnny Cakes, Banana Bread, Flour Tortillas, Peach Preserves & more.
There is a Remedies section in the back of the book. It includes remedies for toothache, burns, to cure a wart, cure for smallpox & scarlet fever, rattlesnake remedy and other maladies best left unmentioned. Only in Texas!
There is also a section called This And That and covers an assortment of subjects such as removing wrinkles, homemade paste, coal flowers, and household hints.
Overall the book is in good condition - inside and out. The back cover has a dark stain on the lower binding corner (see photo) which has left smaller stains on some of the back pages, but nothing like that on the cover. Other than that, the interior pages are very clean - no writing or dog-ears.
