Country Music Magazine -Johnny Cash Silver Anniversary
for item Mag34
Tragically we lost the great Johnny Cash only a few weeks ago! The Man In Black helped define country music and this issue of Country Music was his day in the sunshine! Except for a few articles and the regular magazine features, this entire issue is all about Johnny Cash!
Instead of one rambling article, the magazine is divided into many articles about Johnny Cash, his family, career and more. Some of the article titles include: Johnny Cash"s Greatest Hits, John R. Cash: I Will Rock "n Roll With You (If I Have To), The Magic Thumb, and a touching poem by Johnny"s wife, June Carter Cash.
You"ll get a first hand look at photographs taken by Johnny Cash in the feature Johnny Cash: The Photographer.
It"s fun to see the many photographs of Johnny Cash with the country music who"s who. There are tributes in this issue from some of the best - Hank Snow, Conway Twitty, Jerry Lee Lewis, Marty Robbins, Roy Acuff and more. See my item "Mag 36" which another issue of Country Music with an article about Rosanne Cash and the influence her father had on her music.
In the Record Review sections, you"ll read reviews for the just-then-released The Way I Am by Merle Haggard, Song That Made The Juke Box Play by Mac Wiseman, Millsap Magic by Ronnie Milsap, Changes by Billy Crash Craddock, Women Get Lonely by Charly McClain and more.
The magazine is in very good condition - inside and out. The outer cover shows some very minor wear on the edges. The interior is extremely clean - no writing or dog-ears.
This magazine would make a great piece of memorabilia for a Johnny Cash fan!
