This is an August, 1954, issue of Guideposts Magazine - A Practical Guide To Successful Living. The front cover features Ed Sullivan. The inside article about Sullivan includes a picture of Mr. Sullivan with his wife, daughter and son-in-law. In the article, "Least Likely To Succeed . . . .", there are write-ups about six unpromising children who rose above their obstacles in life to become great. See if you can guess who they are without checking the answers. Another interesting article is "The Strength Of Kono" written by Stanley Manierre. It tells of his four terror filled days adrift after his plane was shot down by the Japanese during World War II. He became a P.O.W. on May 29, 1944, and lived to tell of his experience. F. Beverly Kelley was director of radio and TV for Ringling Brothers. He wrote "Circus Holiday," "Fun By The Ton," & "Kathleen Visits The Fair." His article titled "High Above The Center Ring" tells of circus life from his perspective. The back cover has some thumbnail pictures of Red Barber, Babe Didrikson Zaharias, Harold R. Medina, Rosalind Russell, & Jimmy Durante. The magazine is in very good condition - inside and out. The front cover has some minor fractures and wear.
