This issue of Life Magazine is dated December 27, 1968. It is a 2-in-1 issue dedicated to Picasso and his paintings. It has many great pictures of Picasso's paintings, as well as, pictures of Picasso in his personal life.
Pictures include the women in Picasso"s life, some dated back to 1906. In also include Picasso with his wife prior to 1953. Picasso was 65 years old - his wife, Francoise Gilot was in her 20's. Despite their age difference, they had a son, Claude. There are pictures of Picasso with his wife and son enjoying a day on the beach.
You'll also enjoy the vintage advertisements. This issue includes a nice "pull-out" brochure featuring the 1969 line up of Ford automobiles, including the Torino, Fairlane, Falcon, Mustang and Thunderbird. This would be a nice item for a vintage Ford collector!
The inside cover is a tri-fold fold-out featuring the Campbell"s Soup little girl. The colors are very bright and the girl alone is almost 24" tall. The back outside cover features a bottle of Coca-Cola sitting in the snow with the caption, "Santa"s Little Helper."
The magazine has some surface wear on the outside cover and edges. The outside corners have been slightly bent when stored as seen in the picture. The interior pages are clean - no writing. Some of the corners of the magazine have a slight curl and very small bends on them. The edges of the interior pages have turned slightly dark due to age.
If you love Picasso"s work, then you will really enjoy this issue about his life!
