Today we are awed and amazed by the latest pictures from Mars, however, in 1966, we had the same feeling about Surveyor"s pictures of the lunar surface - that of the moon! One such picture is on the cover of this Life Magazine dated July 1, 1966. More pictures are included.Read about Indonesia"s bloody reign of vengeance against its communists in the article "Haunted Face of a Red Defeat." Jack Palance made Academy Award fame doing his one-arm pushup on stage after winning the Oscar a few years ago. See a very young and good-looking Mr. Palance in a full page Heublein Extra Dry Martini advertisement in this issue. (see photo) Being a native Texan, I loved the article and pictures in "Power Still Growing, the Excitement Unabated - Texas." There is a nice nighttime view of the Dallas skyline, oil derricks in the Galveston Bay, a farmer striping his cotton crop, the 1900 home of Cattleman Dunn Houston in Gonzales, our beautiful springtime Texas Bluebonnets, and many more nice pictures. You'll enjoy the vintage advertisement in this issue of Life. Some of the ads include Chrysler, Sinclair Motor Oil, General Electric Refrigerator, Canada Dry Quinine Water, Skippy Peanut Butter, and more. The magazine is in good condition - inside and out. There is some minor wear to the outer edges of the cover. The bottom front corner has a small bend, as well as, the first few pages behind the cover. There is a 1/4" tear on the right side edge of the front cover. The interior pages are clean - no writing or dog-ears. Please include $4.00 for shipping in the U.S. Add an additional $1.65 if you would like the magazine insured. I add new items to my shop frequently. Please bookmark Moments In Time and visit often!
